Bathroom Lighting - so much choice!

Bathrooms are a space that allows the utilisation of many different forms of lighting fixtures. Everything from pendant lights through to LED accent strips can be used to their full potential but where we see the most benefit is downlights, uplights and LED strip lighting for alcoves and niches.

Most importantly, be unique! Although not used as often as the typical bathroom wall lights, pendant lighting in a bathroom can transform the space if you have ample ceiling room. A mirror is the most important fixture besides a bath / shower / sink, make use of it! LED bathroom mirror lights are perfect as they're dual-purpose as a mirror and lighting the room up perfectly for what you're using it for.

One thing to consider
Bathroom lighting is a key area where IP ratings on light fixtures matter. Being in close proximity to many sources of water, a minimum of IP44 is what we suggest - meaning a light splash wont effect them. For something where regular splashing and water ingress may occur, IP54 or even IP65 would be the best choice for longevity.

  • something new?

This space utilises 3 decorative and modern fixed spotlights to bring lighting into the room - very unique but very effective. With the copper internals providing ample reflective properties and a comfortable hue.

  • Light your Niche

Bathroom niche lighting is a superb way to add that extra something to the room. Using a pair of small LED downlights or a hidden LED strip is an easy, yet effective way to add the premium feeling.

  • less is more?

Even though we are lighting designers, natural light is nearly always the best lighting for a room If it's in plentiful supply. A large skylight combined with tall ceilings brings this space a tonne of natural light.

  • Dark and cosy

With absolutely no naked lighting on show, this space would be incredibly relaxing. Natural light combined with a large LED strip light hidden in the ceiling niche bouncing light off the warm tones of the timber.

  • professional approach

Perhaps the most affordable professional level lighting display is with the use of up and downlights. IP65 rated uplights being so close to the bath and IP54 / IP44 rated downlights above the bath to protect from steam provide a spa-like space.

  • accent lighting

When you have a beautiful backdrop such as this textured copper hued piece, it's only right to highlight it. Using a large bathroom mirror light, lit via an LED strip is the perfect way.
